Henllys Community Council

 
Henllys Community Council was formed following the reorganisation of local government in 1974 and is one of six Community/Town Councils in Torfaen.
 

Henllys Community Council serves the residents of Henllys, a community of over 2,000 on the electoral roll.

As a democratically-elected statutory body the Council raises its funds through setting an annual precept which is collected by Torfaen County Borough Council and is passed on to the Community Council. The Council then uses this money to make a difference in the community.

The following outlines some of the activities of the Community Council - 

Community and Environmental  

Representing residents views, monitoring environmental problems, reviewing planning applications, equipping and maintaining the village main playpark, publishing a free newsletter three times a year which is delivered to every house in Henllys, representing Henllys on external bodies.

Grants to voluntary organisations, minor works, environmental improvements
